Glassball alpha

One desk for every role you play

Keep every ball in the air. Know which ones are glass.

Glassball is one desk for a working life with several roles: your company, the products you build, your day job and your own days. What you build, publish, run and know sits on one list, and the week shows what fits before it starts. Rubber balls may bounce. Glass ones are watched.

Fig. 1  A glass ball, n 1.52, held over an example week. Like every glass ball, it shows the world upside down. Drag it.

Why the name

One name, four balls.

Brian Dyson, of Coca-Cola Enterprises, told the Georgia Tech class of 1991 that life is a game of keeping five balls in the air. Work is rubber: drop it and it bounces back. Family, health, friends and spirit are glass.

Run your own products and you find glass in the work pile as well. Glassball is built to tell the two apart, and to see far enough ahead that you drop neither.

Fig. 2  Five balls, after Dyson. Click one to drop it.

Two of these bounce. Three of them break. Try one.

The rubber ball

Drop it and it bounces. A post a day late is still a post, and a fix can ship next week. Glassball counts the minutes these cost you and lets them slide when the week is full.

The glass ball

Drop it and it breaks, and some of it comes with a bill. Glassball keeps these in the RUN lane, where nothing slips out of view until it is done.

The crystal ball

Look ahead, from tomorrow to a year out, on one calendar. Work shows from the day it can start. A post with a figure in it opens for your yes 48 hours before it goes out, so a yes never lands on you at 23:00.

Five weeks of example acts, from Monday 5 October to Sunday 8 November 2026, with a glass lens that shows the labels of the days under it.

Fig. 3  Five weeks of example acts. Move the glass over them.

The globe

See the whole world from one place: every role and every product on one list. And the day travels with you. It turns at 04:00 where you are, while every post keeps the Amsterdam time it was planned for.

Singapore

The whole picture

Four roles. One list.

Most tools see one slice. A scheduler sees posts, an issue tracker sees bugs, a calendar sees meetings and the accountant's portal sees filings. Glassball holds all of it as items, from your company down to a side project, and puts the same four verbs on each.

Role

Your company

Filings, renewals, backups and the bank. Mostly glass.

Role

Your products

Launches, channels, readers and the one number each of them lives by.

Role

Your day job

Its calendar tells Glassball when you are busy, never what for.

Role

Your own days

Travel, sleep, training, and the people who are waiting for your reply.

SteerLive

Each item has a state: idea, open, paused or closed. A pause holds its work from that day on and deletes nothing, and a closed item stays on record.

Items: company, product, project, role

ActLive

Everything that has to happen, with its day, its minutes, why it exists and what done looks like. A repeat rule plans the next one ahead.

Lanes: SELL and RUN today, BUILD next

FindNext

What your products owe their users: the defects and ideas they file in Findings, and each product's roadmap from idea to live.

From findings.dev, a YINDOR product

KnowLive

Your background, your rules and your decisions, with every version kept. Any MCP-enabled AI reads them before it answers you.

  • Work on itOpens a session on that act with your AI: in the terminal on your Mac, in a chat anywhere else.

Fig. 5  The Today page, with example acts.

Acts

Everything is an act: automated, prepared or yours. Only what needs you carries minutes; an automated activity costs you none.

The week

Your minutes are added up across every product before the week is shown, so a 9-hour week cannot hide behind an empty one.

Your publications

Glassball plans every post on every channel and holds your yes; the publishing stays with the scheduling tools you already use. A yes is for the exact words: change a comma and it is void.

Numbers

Every number says where it came from and when it was read. A number nobody read shows as a dash.

A push

Your phone gets a push when a post lands on its own day, and when a post you approved is still not scheduled an hour before it goes out.

Your AI

Built for AI from the first day: an MCP server with 15 tools, so the assistant you already use can read your week and plan an act. It proposes; only you accept.

What it is becoming

Promises, each with its done-when.

Glassball holds every act to one line that says what you will see when it is done. The roadmap gets the same treatment.

Building

Waiting on someone

Anything waiting on someone else leaves your list until its chase day, and comes back by itself.

Done whena waiting act is gone from Today and back on its chase day.

Building

A publication you can follow

Every post in view from first draft to sent: the words, the picture, your yes, scheduled, out.

Done whenone page says where any post is, without opening the scheduler.

Building

Your memory in every session

The same background and rules wherever you meet your AI: a chat, a terminal, a cloud session.

Done whena cloud session starts out knowing what stands, the way a chat does today.

Next

Building work on the same list

The build queue from Findings, best first, inside your week, so building time counts like any other.

Done whena product's build queue reads the same in Glassball as on findings.dev, and its minutes count in your week.

Next

Edit an act after planning it

Title, done-when, why and link, changed in place.

Done whenan act changes without being deleted and made again.

Next

Every product reports in

A small read-only contract: each product sends its own numbers and what it shipped.

Done whena product card fills itself, every number dated.

Next

Channels on one table

Every account of every product: handle, connected or not, last post, followers where they can be read.

Done whenthe scattered account notes can be deleted.

Later

More than one way to publish

A second route to your channels, explored after the current test ends on 31 December 2026, so no single service holds all of them.

Done whenthe decision is written down, either way.

Later

A desk of your own

Glassball for other people with several roles and several products: your items, your lanes, your AI.

Done when13 weeks of its maker's own use read green, around 27 December 2026, and enough of you have asked.

Alpha

One user so far. Write if you would like to be next.

The one user is the person who built it. Glassball runs his company, his own weeks and four products from one desk: Pelgrim, Heavier, Silicon Almanac and Findings. It is good enough that he would miss it, and early enough that a letter from you changes what gets built next.
